Stepping Stones

“Every charitable act is a stepping stone towards heaven.”

– Henry Ward Beecher

The transition from orphanages and foster care to life is difficult. Stepping stones provides financial assistance on an individualized personal level and includes life skills training, and mentoring to ensure the success of our participants in college and in life.

Our successful applicants will be maintaining higher than average grades and will be individually interviewed by the Foundation.

Stepping Stones provides life skills assistance, mentoring, and financial assistance to orphaned and abandoned children between the ages of 17-24 originally from the Appalachian Region of the United States.

Stepping Stones provides limited annual financial assistance in such areas as utility bills, transportation costs, educational materials, and other living necessities to orphaned and abandoned children pursuing higher education at an accredited Kentucky school.

Stepping Stones candidates are referred by our partner organizations and interviewed personally by our trustees Nick Taulbee and Brenda Heintz.

Stepping Stones is focused on personal responsibility and character based.

Stepping Stones is funded by private donations and the Foundations endowment fund.
